Josefina Della Barca

Josefina Della Barca was born in Córdoba, Argentina. From a young age, she felt a deep attraction to photography, although it wasn’t until two years ago that she decided to formalize that interest by starting her training at the Faculty of Arts at the National University of Córdoba. There, she completed beginner and intermediate courses, followed by an advanced and experimental photography course lasting a year.

Currently, alongside her studies in Industrial Design, Josefina dedicates much of her time to photography—a passion that leads her to primarily explore nature, landscapes, and travel. Her work seeks to capture unique moments that convey the essence of the places she visits, and, in the process, allows her to discover herself.

She has participated in various group exhibitions in Córdoba and, more recently, in Mar del Plata, always with the desire to share her perspective and her connection with the environment.

Artist statement

Photography is my refuge and my most genuine form of expression. Through my lens, I explore landscapes, nature, and the corners of the world, aiming to capture not just the image but the essence and identity of each place. My work moves between digital and analog photography, always open to experimentation with techniques like double exposure, filmsoup, or filmswap, which allow me to play with texture, chance, and imperfection.

While I have a strong inclination toward travel and nature photography, I don’t confine myself to a single style. I’m driven by curiosity and a constant need to try new ways of seeing and storytelling. In digital photography, I pursue a nostalgic visual language, enhancing colors and atmosphere to connect emotionally with the viewer. For me, every photograph is a dialogue between the place, the light, and my own perspective — a space where I find myself and reinvent who I am.
