Artist statement
My photographic practice investigates the materiality of memory, fleeting human experiences, and perceptual constructions of the environment. I employ photography as a medium to develop visual and conceptual narratives through the interplay of collage, archival material, and instant film.
I am interested in how our perceptions of time, space, and identity are formed, fragmented, and transformed. Memory, in this sense, can manifest in objects, spaces, traces, gestures, or landscapes, with photography functioning as both approach and record.
Through my creative process, I explore the complexities of perception and representation, integrating digital and analog formats to create compositions that encourage attentive, sensory, and contemplative engagement. I seek to generate subtle dialogues between diverse elements and aesthetics, inviting the viewer to slow down and inhabit the visual experience.
My work proposes a symbolic exploration of the image, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own act of looking, to engage with the everyday, and to encounter a poetics of transformation embedded in the photographic medium.
