Karsten Janotta is a passionated photographer from the Ahr Valley, Germany. Working professionally as an IT specialist, photography serves as his creative counterbalance next to music. His journey began years ago with a Sony Alpha 230 and has since evolved to working with Fujifilm medium format and APS-C cameras - while never underestimating the power of a smartphone at the right moment.

Driven by his slogan, “What Light Remembers,” Karsten photographs to create lasting memories of moments, people, and himself. His motto, “To walk through life also means leaving traces behind. What matters is that they are your own,” reflects his belief in personal expression and authenticity. Through his work, he hopes to connect with others, spark conversations, and inspire a shared passion for photography.
