Présentation de l'artiste
Natalia Jacott
I was born and raised in Mexico City. Both of my parents introduced me to art, especially photography, from a young age, and I believe that's where my love for it started. I’ve always been a deeply sensitive person, and I think that sensitivity translates into both my artistic practice and the way I experience life. To me, photography is about creating one's own language, one that, like spoken language, is at constant evolution. That's what I love about art: its ability to expand, to portray different stages of our lives and reshape our way of seeing things.
Lately, I’ve been drawn to experimenting with textures and various techniques to create abstract images. I find beauty in leaving the viewer with an incomplete portrait, one that invites them to look closer, to engage with the image, and to complete it through their own experiences.

Artist statement
My name is Natalia Jacott and I’m a Mexican based artist. My relationship with photography started in the early stages of my life and, as I grew older, I realised that it was the biggest passion I had. Since then, I’ve explored a lot of different styles, but nowadays my work usually revolves around nudity, self-portrait, intimacy and vulnerability. I've always found something very healing about photography. It has helped me shape a different and more authentic relationship with myself over the years, but it's also been a gate for me to explore not only with myself, but also with those who seek to find something intimate and vulnerable about themselves.
My photographs try to aim for a personal, raw, honest, and sensible approach. I believe that, ultimately, we allow ourselves very few spaces in which we get to be vulnerable and intimate, so I aim to create that space within the subjects I portray.
