Présentation de l'artiste

Nuno Serrão

Nuno Serrão is a Portuguese multidisciplinary artist working at the edge of poetic narrative and raw minimalism. Driven by curiosity, he builds non-linear projects around uncomfortable, ambiguous subjects that press against our comfort zones and ask what is fundamental versus what is emergent.

Artist statement

Critics describe his work as finding beauty at the intersection of nature and humanity, with cinematic compositions and an unorthodox approach to portraiture that reflect a distinctive sensitivity to the world. His minimalist philosophy shapes his conceptual, aesthetic and editorial approach, evident in his work on publications such as Público, Expresso, HuffPost, Cosmopolitan Germany, Marie Claire Italia, NASA/APOD and GQ Portugal.

His projects have been shown in galleries, museums and festivals across Europe and Asia, and his short films have been recognized by festivals including Aesthetica, Caminhos do Cinema Português, FUSO, InShadow, Astoria, among others. He was selected for Creative Europe’s Futures Photography in 2022 and has collaborated with brands including Adobe (partner since 2020) and Samsung.
